MELBOURNE, FL USA, March 30, 2020 – Airon Corporation, a privately held Florida-based company specializing in high-tech pneumatic life support products, has licensed its pNeuton Model A ventilator design to GE Healthcare, and Ford will provide its manufacturing strength to produce 50,000 ventilators in 100 days, with the ability to produce 30,000 a month thereafter as needed.
The pNeuton Model A-E ventilator, which is powered by Airon’s pneumatic technology, does not require electricity or batteries and provides oxygen with pressure to keep the lungs open and assist breathing for critically ill patients.
“All of us at Airon are honored at the opportunity to unite with Ford and GE Healthcare, to help bring large numbers of ventilators to the front lines to help in the fight against this horrific virus”, said Eric Gjerde, president of Airon Corporation. “We want to thank three organizations that worked side by side with us, around the clock, to make this collaboration effort possible: MedWorld Advisors for their strategic relationships which helped to arrange for this deal to come together in record time; Steven A. Navarro and Dennis C. Gucciardo, with Morgan Lewis law firm, an elite FDA and corporate practice, who crafted the deal; and our corporate lawyer Jim O’Brien with Lowndes, a Florida law firm, for guiding us through the entire process.”
The license agreement will not change Airon’s normal business operations. The company will remain privately held. Airon will continue to fulfill current ventilator and critical care CPAP orders and commitments for all of the markets they serve, including: EMS, in-hospital, ER, trauma, OR, ICU, neonatal, MRI, and transport. In addition, Airon will continue working with distributors worldwide to help meet the demand for life-saving ventilators.
“In the coming weeks, we plan to quadruple production of Airon’s pNeuton Model A ventilator in our Melbourne, Florida facility,” stated Pamela K. Fry, BS, RRT, vice president of Airon Corporation. “Ford will initially send a team to work with us to help boost production in Florida. Our commitment remains strong to support all the brave healthcare workers, and to help with global relief efforts due to this public health emergency.”
